To make it easy -to-use for everyone, we have two distinct licenses (the open source license and the commercial license), depending upon the usage and distribution requirements of customers. The overall business benefit of this policy is that it provides maximum value at minimum cost.

The following section elaborates upon the licensing options for Daffodil CRM:

The open source license

Daffodil CRM is an open source CRM software under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This license allows you to download the source code and make modifications or enhancements at no cost; but restricts the distribution of the software (as per GPL provisions). If you want to use, modify and distribute the software freely, the open source license mandates you to release the software under GPL. For more information and legal notifications kindly, refer to:

To make it simple:

• You are free to use Daffodil open source CRM software for non - commercial signing a separate agreement with Daffodil Software, as long as you do not copy, modify and distribute the said open source CRM software (i.e. Daffodil CRM).
• You can modify the source code of Daffodil CRM software and keep the modifications private as long as you do not distribute the modified code.
• If you wish to distribute the software with the modified code, you must release the source code modifications / enhancements under the provisions of GNU GPL.
• You are allowed to modify the source code in any way you like as long as the distributed derivative work is also licensed under the GPL.
• You are allowed to copy Daffodil CRM binaries and source code, but when you do so, the copies will fall under the GPL license and the larger work must also be released under GPL.

The Commercial License

If you want to use Daffodil CRM for commercial purposes, the commercial license is appropriate solution because it provides you with an assurance from Daffodil Software and relieves you from the strict provisions of the GPL. The commercial license comes with assured professional support from Daffodil Software and allows for the free distribution of Daffodil CRM within your commercial organization. You can also use the software with other commercial and non-GPL applications without releasing the combined / larger work under the open source license.

To make it simple:

• Under the commercial license, you can use Daffodil CRM in a non-GPL or in a commercial environment.
• You can use Daffodil CRM to develop commercial applications and distribute the same, provided that Daffodil CRM commercial license is purchased for each derivative work.
• With the purchase of the commercial license, you get assured support from Daffodil Software that helps you integrate the software with your existing IT infrastructure / environment.
• The commercial license allows you to distribute the software within your commercial organization.
